The Aberdeen Eaglettes started off the 1955-56 season in hopes of winning
the coveted county basketball championship. Aftera great deal of practice, the
girls, eager and powerful, faced an equally powerful and eager team, Bel Air,
who beat the Eagelettes 4l to 34. The girls refused to let one defeat spoil
their season, so they pushed forward to defeat Havre de Grace 37 - 34. They
followed this witha 38 - Z5 win over North Harford. With five games remain-
ing to be played, the girls have a chance to tie for first place. The Eaglettes
coach, Mrs. Reitz, has worked hard and patiently to produce a championship
team for Aberdeen High.
