Forward Forward Forward The Aberdeen Eaglettes started off the 1955-56 season in hopes of winning the coveted county basketball championship. Aftera great deal of practice, the girls, eager and powerful, faced an equally powerful and eager team, Bel Air, who beat the Eagelettes 4l to 34. The girls refused to let one defeat spoil their season, so they pushed forward to defeat Havre de Grace 37 - 34. They followed this witha 38 - Z5 win over North Harford. With five games remain- ing to be played, the girls have a chance to tie for first place. The Eaglettes coach, Mrs. Reitz, has worked hard and patiently to produce a championship team for Aberdeen High. Many events were scheduled for the day, including a parade, football game, and Homecoming dance. The highlight of the day and evening was the crowning of the Homecoming queen, Glenda Woodward, who was crowned by the two co-captains, Art Clessuras and Stan Pitts. Her attendants were Reveillie Jackson, BettySoth,Hettie Reuyl, Linda Morgan, Rose Marie Falcone, and Connie Ross. The day was a complete success. The parade included many gaily decorated floats, cars, and Aberdeen High School's Marching Band. The football game was a great victory: Aberdeen 32, Sherwood 0. The finale, the orchestra dance, closed a day of excitement and enjoyment as the students danced to the music of the Tip-Tops. 4..- NN... -, -.111 an Q: qu-11 1-1 .... ,N. -,.. 2:42:32-1!! PRGM, I955 As the climax to last year's activities, the Junior Class presented the Jr.- Sr. Banquet and Prom. Making their plans early, the Juniors were determined to make their prom the best AHS had ever seen. The Juniors and Seniors spent aglorious "Evening in Paris", a night that no one present shall ever forget. In the cafeteria, a sumptuous banquet was served, amid excellent decorations, in the French motif. The lobby, turned into a lush garden, suggested springtime in Paris. The gym was transformed into a sidewalk cafe, with red and white awnings shading the tables. The Eiffel Tower, rising majestically into the clouds, added to the Parisian atmosphere. As a final touch, the tables were covered with checkered cloths and each held a candle-dripped bottle. Under a blue paper sky, the guestsdancedto the music of the Tip-Tops, playing from the pavilion at the far end of the gym. This was truly a memorable occassion in the annals of AHS.
