we SACD! The Abbey School is a college preparatory boarding school established in 1944. The school is under the direction of its founder and headmaster, Austin L. Whittey. The Abbey School is located on a high elevation over- looking the beautiful Farmington Valley. There is a campus of one hundred and thirty-five acres, and a short distance from the school is the quaint old New England town of Simsbury, Conn. A happy combination of sloping land, broad, level playing fields and one of the last stands of virgin pine forest in the East insure adequate facilities for outdoor sports throughout the school year. Y The two main purposes of The Abbey are to prepare young men for life by surrounding them during the most critical period of their lives with a clean atmosphere, a highly cultural background and a sense of the civic responsibility of the men in Americag to prepare them for college by giving them a sound training in proper study habits in those subjects necessary for success in college and technical school.
