Fighting Spirit, On fall Fridays we dressed in green and white and cheered our team to victory. A perfect season and many trophies were the reward. I he pep meetings were our prelude to victory. Our team won not only the games, hut also the praise of their Alma Mater. Th e work balanced the play, and the stu- dents faced regularly the ever-constant pur- pose of th e school room. Squealing sophomores chased hugs all over town and mounted their game in neat arrangements for that hardest and newest sophomore course— biology . Drivers Ed. students were pushing the bard Foundation product to its ultimate performance. As the 12:20 bell sounded , D.E. students scurried up- town to their various jobs. I mhalming lessons went on in world history, and hypnotic trances occurred in psychology with procedures a bit different from those on television. Courage Page Eight

is the school A. L. Brown High School . . . the cornerstone of our education. Chief cheerleader, Brenda Neal, leads cheerleaders Glenda Lee, Kay Sloop, Sylvia Gillon, Becky Withers, Brenda Wright and Susan Ritch in ringing the prized victory bell. We came once again, some old, some new. I lie sophomo res came excited, bewildered, asking themselves it this is worth it. I he middle link, no longer scared sophomores, not vet the experienced seniors, know it’s worth it; they found their lockers. Up on the top floor, the new seniors flapped flamboyantly and treely among their new classrooms. Teachers learned new answers to old riddles: How do vou inspire a love-struck coed?
