ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
"O, Wilson Dear, we will keep near the things that Thou hast taughtg
And as we travel on life's way remember joys Thou've brought.
It is indeed a singular honor to have been asked to pay tribute to one of Malvern's
greatest groups, "The Wilson High School Alumni."
Evidence of love and devotion of the Alumni can be seen over the past years. Although
graduates find themselves in various parts of the United States, there are traces of their
love manifested through the organization of a chapter of the Alumni Association where
there is a sufficient number congregated
Just the other week it was my pleasure to visit in the homes of many of the grad
uates l was very happy with my finding While in Chicago I watched afight over T V
with Miss Tecola Lee who is teaching in that city Watching the fight with me were
Delton and John McClellan James R Thompson Veotis Lee Bertha Moss Theodis
Hale and Exie L Johnson
Due to the lateness of the hour I was forced to leave by plane for Detroit Meet
ing me at the airport were Mattie Withmore Dorothy and Clifton Gilkie and Helen
Lambert who carried me to a chicken dinner on Wall Street Iwas proud indeed to
meet this group and the chicken
It took me ten hours to go from Detroit to Cleveland but well worth the trip
Herbert Duncan John Bazziel Perry Whitlow and wife and Jesse Smith carried me
to the Club Underwood It was there that we talked over the past present and future
This was the group that made life worth living Knowing that money was low Istarted
calling students by phone collect From Milwaukee talked Irish M McClellan
Sanders Dorothy Lee Alexander and Tometta Williams Simpson William H 'lhomas
called from California
With time running out and my being on the hog ' left for the Army dance Sliding
nond Easley Jesse fnomps an fharlie i arf Jil I-Ierber ic rnpson W il e ar: and
Albert fannirg of the Army
Upon returning home I was told that many of the former students are making
progress in college namely S J Benson Jr Thomas Green Eugene Mixon Jr and
Bettie Wright at A M and N College Pine Bluff William Starks James Davis Willie
M Anderson at Dunbar Junior Couege Little Rock Bobb1eJ Bluford at Arkansas
