The Overskei cindermen opened the 1955 track season at the University of South Dakota invita- tional meet entering such events as the relays, hurdles, dashes, and shot put. The next week saw them at the Norfolk Track Meet where they did very well. The next few Saturdays were busy for the Bucks as they had an invitational meet at home: attended the Corn Palace Relays: picked up a few points in the Dakota Relays and won the Region VII crown. In the Conference Meet the Buck thinclads racked up Z5 points for 3rd place. During the season John Boyles broke the Y.H.S. 100 yard dash record and tied the Dakota Relays record in the same race. His record time was 10 flat. Also the mile-relay team came within a few tenths of a second of the Y.H.S. record but could not muster enough to break it. gf? W a T e U.S.D.
