SENIORS James Robinson: Band, Honor society, baseball mgr., Lolomi assistant business mgr., Gold Y, K. C., Pirate Hi Y treas- urer. Now here's a boy who's always jolly. That's the kind we like, by golly. Alice Rockwell: Girls' Glee club, ushers. Here we have a southern belle, listen closely and you can tell. Shirley Rolstad: Dawn Y-Teens, Honor society, llL secretary, home room representative, Lolomi business staff, orches- tra, choir, after school sports. She can tickle those ivory keys, and always has the aim to please. Marie Hooker: Photo club. Quite a catch, they say, is Rooker, soon some guy will try to hook 'er. Dick Rothe: Boys' Glee club, Chess and Checker club president, Ski club, K. C. secretary-treasurer. He keeps the teach- ers ill at ease. They're always shouting Quiet pleasefi' Jo Rothstrom: 11H Girls League representative, ASB council, Girls League president, assembly committee, Tri Y. lo knows not the word defeat. In charm and ability she canit be beat. Nada Houghton: Ushers. Though she looks shy and somewhat frail, we bet that she could split a rail. Arlene Sauve: Ushers. Arlene has a queenly face, so she must have alot of grace. Harold Sauve: He reminds us of a spaniel purp, except that he is not a twirp. Margery Savage: Choir, Honor society, Dawn Y-Teens, Girls League cabinet, lost and found, Photo club, madrigal, drill team. Here comes Marge all dressed up in her Yakima Hi Y president's pin. Eddie Scheinost, Jr.: Science club, lll-I sergeant at arms, Gold Y, track, football A team, Radio club. To most the laugh of this laughing Lena vaguely resembles the poor hyena. William Schlagel: l2L boys' athletic mgr., Gold Y sergeant at arms, football A team, baseball, home room represen- tative. Bill is just a farmer's son. He's shining, too, and thatis no pun. Joanne Schmid: Art club, Dawn Y-Teens, Girls' Glee club vice-president. We know Joanneis a natural blonde. Of girls like that we are so fond. Dwight Schneider: 10H sergeant at arms. Dwight, we know, is full of fun, but then he's not the only one. William Schwalbe: Home room representative, Ski club, You Can't Take lt With You, ASB council. That gentle look upon his face is only there when he goes some place. Dave Scott: Pep club, Ski club secretary, jr.-sr. reception, home room representative, l1L treasurer. The question he asks when the day is spent is where in the heck has Beverly Wendt? Harry Scott: Pirate Hi Y, Gold Y, K. C. vice-president, football, track. Next in line is Harry Scott, he may look shy but he is not. Leland Searles: Carol's always seen with Lee, also Dwayne and Beverlie. Lewis W. Sheeley: Band, band vice-president, dance band, orchestra. Heis the kind of a little mutt that makes a teacher go off his nut. Alberta Sheffer: Dawn Y-Teens, Philadelphia Story, ASB council. Carroll keeps her ina faint. Is you is or is you ain't? Gloria Shelton: Honor society, 10H secretary, jr.-sr. reception, after school sports, Diana Y-Teens cabinet, Pep club, Art club president, Photo club, Ski club secretary, place award in scholastic art contest, Wigwam business staff. Gloria is one we think always will be in the pink. Carl Sheneberger: Radio club, Honor society, Science club librarian. Behind the glasses where he hides, a genius brain, so smart, abides. Frank Shepherd: He'd make an ad for Pepsodent. Someday he may be president. Grant Sherrill: Football A team, basketball A squad. Lean and lank is Sherrill Texf' Wonder where he will go next. Muriel Shidell: Student federalists, after school sports, Honor society, Dawn Y-Teens, ushers, Lolomi business staff, Wigwam business staff, choir, DAR American history contest, Pirate Lassies, girls' sport council secretary, jr.-sr. recep- tion. This girl cuts a very mean rug, especially when doing the Bunny Hug. Howard Shuman: Pep club, Honor society, ASB treasurer, home room representative, basketball mgr., Yakima Hi Y secretary, DAR American history contest, Gold Y, Roberts' Memorial contest, band. Here's a guy who's always neat. As a topside .loe he's hard to beat. Frances Sickler: Library club. Franny knows beyond a doubt that she will never be left out. Don Simmons: Art club secretary, apple contest. Someday our Don will famous be, for his art is a joy to see. Margaret Sinclair: Dawn Y-Teens, Home Economics club. Her days of high are almost o'er, and she will then be seen no more. Don Sinsel: Ski club, band, orchestra, choir, dance band, pep band. He's a credit to any band, even the best band in the land. 92

SENIORS Fern L. Smith: Cafeteria, Science club, ushers. She looks like Queen Lila Lee, that's what sometime she may be. Joe Smith: ASB council, football. Next comes a Smith whose name is foe. One can't get him flustered, though. Lorraine Smith: Office practice, ushers. Lorraine will someday travel far. That is our prophecy so far. Cary Smoot: Football, Gold Y, track. Gary is a boy athlete who's very nimble on his feet. Bob Spence: Bob is known by you and I as being just a little guy. Ray Stenberg: Band, choir treasurer, First Lady, , K. C., pep band, quartet. Junior they called him, or do you re- member? But he's been a senior since last September. Lillian Steves: Choir. In the choir is Lillian Steves. She is not the type who grieves. Elmer R. Stewart: FFA president and vice-president. His heart is tied 1.p in FFA. While old Sol's shining, he's mak- ing hay. Jack Stillings: .lack Hot Rod Stillings is still around. Bet he will soon be six feet under ground. John Strand: Science club historian. Here's a small and gentle boy. He makes us think that he is coy. Kathryn B. Sutton: Dawn Y-Teens, Home Economics club, ushers. From the South is little Kate.', She never hur- ries, is never late. Margaret Sutton: Christmas story contest, Dawn Y-Teens, Girls League cabinet, Home Economics club historian, Sci- ence club treasurer, ushers. .lust the same as her sis is Maggie, Her cute clothes are never baggy. Betty Lou Swale: Dawn Y-Teens, office practice, ushers. Next in line is Betty Swale. Across the seas someday she'll sail. Pat Swanson: Pat's a girl who gets around, always full of fun we've found. Lawrence L. Taylor: Boys League cabinet, football, Ski club. Here he comes in a little car that looks as if it travelled far. Jean Terry: After school sports, Diana Y-Teens conference chairman, Library club, ushers. A happy girl is little Miss Terry, in addition, she's always merry. Pauline Thomas: Honor society, Chess and Checker club, home room representative, class vice-president, DAR Ameri- can history contest, Dawn Y-Teens, jr.-sr. reception. W ith that mass of bright red hair, one will always know she's there. Vera Thompson: Art club, assembly committee, choir, Diana Y-Teens, First Lady, Photo club. She came back on a little quest in search of adventure in this wild west. A William R. Tobey: Boys' glee, choir, madrigal, Photo club president, Pirate Hi Y. Biggest surprise of the whole long year came when he started calling Betty, dear. Mary Elizabeth Todd: After school sports, ushers. She is so quiet, without a sound, one hardly knows she is around. Phil Trautman: DAR American history contest winner, Honor society, intramural basketball, Lolomi co-editor, Pep club, co-valedictorian, He's a kid who has a brain that should be on the Freedom train. Gloria Treat: Dawn Y-Teens, Photo club. Gloria is quite a Treat because she always looks so neat. Anne Trenerry: Assembly class, Boys League amateur show, choir, class home room representative, Diana Y-Teens treasurer, Honor society, Naughty Marietta, Night of January Sixteenth, Pep club. Anne's chirp is a delightful thing. Makes us wish that we could sing. Evelyn Trusley: Art club, Dawn Y-Teens, Photo club. She works in a store of drugs, waiting on the money mugs. Bill Ure: Bill, Ure a very cute guy. If I were a girl l'd really sigh. Carolyn Van Vliet: Art club, co-valedictorian, DAR American history contest, Dawn Y-Teens, Honor society, Wigwam news editor. Webstefs wrong, Van Vliet's correct, sheis one of the top of our ten select. Betty Van Wechel: She often goes by the name of Van.,' Wonder if she's a Johnson fan? Ann Vogtlin: After school sports, Diana Y-Teens, jr.-sr. reception, Pep club, Pirate Lassies, Ski club. Anne's a girl who'll always win, no matter what sheis working in. Barbara Waddell: Class president, DAR American history contest, Diana Y-Teens, Honor society secretary, Lolomi business staff, Wigwam business manager, Wigwam school editor. Barbara is off to a very fine start. Her wise, wise words come straight from the heart. Bonnie Walker: After school sports, jr.-sr. reception, Library club vice-president and treasurer, Photo club. She isn't over the ocean, she isn't over the sea, but if she were over the ocean, our Bonnie would far away be. 94
