VVell. you obviously never strolled through Groves' B-wing this year. lf you had, you would have heard land feltl assorted bangs and other noises, not to mention the overall buzz of activity that was everpresent. Industrial Arts students generally worked on individual projects with the main emphasis placed on quality. Their excellence in workmanship was clearly visible in the outcome of the projects. Producing those excellent items took a great deal of plan- ning and drafting, along with plain old hard work, so it wasn't all fun and games. Besides working on their projects, stu- dents also learned many practical skills that will be very useful in the future. ABOVE: Tim Bass and Steve l-lsrwood get a reel charge out of elec- tronics. That is an accurate description of taking a photograph, but if you had asked any photography student, they would have told you that photography was a lot more. Of course student photographers did take pictures, but then there was printing and cropping and reprinting and touching up and... A Student photographers went almost every- where you did this year: they were behind or in front of you, recording on film what you did. They were at football games and dances and club meetings and in your classes and maybe even at your house. You probably never even noticed them, but they were there with you. The most experienced of these students were the photo-journalists. They took pictures for the BCBIPTOB and this TALON. ABOVE: Oick Smith helps a student put film in his camera. Photography 413
