. History's cornpass points to the future To understand where you're going, you nfiust un- derstand where you've been. Oh, you know where you've been - you've seen a President assassinated and a n'1an on the ndoon - but the only way to really under- stand it is to study the history, which came before. This is what a lot of Groves students attempted this pest year. Sorne history courses such as lvlodern European History and American History were among the rnost popular of all in 1975. Governrnent courses took a look at the Alan Eakke reverse discrirnination case and a century of legislation which led up to this rnonfientous decision. The only way for you to chart a smooth course to your future is to study history now. 38 History 'Wifi' if Wouldn't you love to know what Ivlr. Learn future survival Down from the E wing of Groves float exotic fumes good enough to eat. l-lome Ec. students have been laborously mixing, kneading, and baking all kinds of exotic foods. This is where the students learn the art of cooking, and the joys of eating. Sewing is also involved in the field of l-lome Ec. Students learn to top stitch, make darts, make button holes, and hem. This is not only limited to girls either, for boys go beyond the step of thread- ing the needle and onto bigger and better develop- ments of sewing. Home Ec., under the supervision of our new teacher Susan l-lenry, develops the student's per- ception and knowledge of independence. lt teaches them how to fend for themselves once out in the world. l-lome Ec. prepares the student for future survival and self-sufficiency.
