THEATRE ARTS CLUB With a total membership of over thirty students, the Theatre Arts Club possesses a great deal of talent. Under the direction of Mr. Daniels, the club presented an evening of one act plays. Needless to say, this production was very successful. Headed by Bill Concannon and Terry Doyle, the Theatre Arts Club also displayed an interesting account of the development of drama in the windows of the main lobby. Through the efforts of this club, Weymouth High School students have had the opportunity to enjoy fine talent. A thorn amongst roses. 169

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY The National Honor Society was established May 1, 1969. The purpose of the society is to honor the academic, leadership, and citizenship qualities of a student. Members are selected first and foremost by their academic per- formances, after which their names are submitted to the faculty who evaluate them on their citizenship and leader- ship qualities. The officers elected were Kristine Kalaijian, President; Jeanne MacLaren, Vice President; Cindy Alemian, Secre- tary; Richard McDonough, Treasurer. This year, the induction ceremony was held on March 12. Mr. Stanton, along with various members of the so- ciety, spoke. The Honor Society also conferred its first honorary member- ship on Miss Norris. The evening was most rewarding. FOREIGN STUDENTS Receiving the N.H.S. certificate from Dr. Karrin. This year Weymouth High School has been host to nine students from six countries: Chile, China, Mexico, Rumania, Turkey, and Vietnam. These students attend regular classes and classes in conversational English under Mr. McCarthy ' s direction. With their unique amiable personalities, these nine foreign students have gready enriched both our student body and faculty in human understanding. Familiar faces from foreign lands.

SENIOR CLASS PLAY Under the superb direction of Mr. McCarthy, the class of 70 presented Stardust as its senior class play. A hilarious comedy by Walter Keir, it involves a young actress ' rise to fame. The amusing plot was treated with origi- nality and ingenuity by the talented dramatic club members. The backstage crew and the publicity and ticket sales committees also contributed to the suc- cess of this production. A retarded egg. A pep talk from the director. 170
