The activities of the French Club are planned so as to provide opportunities for the use of the French language in a variety of programs. In club work one learns to appreciate the culture and civilization: A general familiarity with and appreciation of the history, leading personalities and achievements of the people whose language is studied., The outstanding events of the year were the Twelfth Night banquet on Janu- ary 8, and the vacation trip to old New Orleans in March. The XYlest End chapter of the junior Classical League exists to further interest in the Latin language and ancient Roman civilization. The program this year has been concerned with the lines and accomplishments of noted Roman statesmen and authors.
