AMERICAN JUNIOR RED CROSS CLUB KEY CLUB This year the girls of the Red Cross Club had a new and different opportunity to serve others. For the first time the members went to the Massachusetts Hospital for Crip¬ pled Children to play with the children and get them ready for dinner. Under the spon¬ sorship of Miss Hickey and student leader¬ ship of President Ellen Hughes and Secretary Nancy Kerivan, the members joined with the Key Club to conduct parties for re¬ tarded children at Perrin School. These par¬ ties succeeded in bringing excitement. The girls not only helped the younger genera¬ tion, but also visited the elderly at Cushing Hospital on Sundays to brighten the lives of its elderly patients. The Red Cross Club also visited the Medfield State Hospital and co¬ operated with the Key Club to hold a Christ¬ mas party at the Settlement House in Bos¬ ton. Because of the various projects of the club, the following chairmen were elected to supervise them: Betsy Giese, Muffy Hor- ack, Jean Noonan, and Paula Mackin. Once again the Key Club has experienced an active year. Under the guidance of Mr. Landry, adviser, and Rich Newhall, Dick Noonan, Chris Gorgone, Steve Glorioso, and Paul Nahass its 43 members continued successfully to run the concession at home football games, sponsor retarded children ' s parties in co-operation with the Red Cross, and visit various settlement houses in the Boston area. The Key Club meets each Mon¬ day night to discuss its business and to hear guest speakers on a wide variety of subjects. Each week two members of the Key Club attend the Kiwanis Club luncheon in order to observe the meeting and to better co-ordinate the two clubs. As a new project this year the Key Club undertook the broadcasting of all home basketball games. With more activities planned for the future, the Key Club looks forward with anticipation to next year ' s projects.
