However, the formal dress and the con- structivistic set and the area lighting proved that Shakespeare can S appear in modern garb and he effective. In keeping with the dress, Q.. 'A the actors used knives instead of swords for their fights. The au- dience oohed and aahed at the beautiful pictures continually created. The romantic tragedy fitted in well with Spring and showed the audience a love of another day. Called The greatest , love story ever written, Romeo and Juliet thrilled and satisfied w the audiences. They were skillfully carried to the land of illusion hy Shakespeare's beautiful and effective poetry. 97
