The purpose of the junior Girls Chorus is to provide instruction in rhythm, intervals, tone, and the basic elements of musicianship as well as beginning experiences in choral music. Frank Tindell The -Iunior lioys Chorus is made up of thirty-four boys who are having their first experience in the Choral Department of VVaco High School. At the end of the school year, the members of the chorus will be promoted to vacancies in the Intermediate and Senior Choruses created by the graduating Seniors. lklembership in this chorus serves to better the individual's knowledge of basic fundamentals of music, such as theory, rhythm, sight singing, and notation. Considerable time is given to individual vocal develop- ment and ensemble singing. Another goal of the group is to p1'omote good fellowship and school spirit among its members. This chorus performed for the rlihanksgiving and Christmas assemblies at XVaco High and sang on the All- City Christmas Program given annually in NVaco Hall. Another project was aiding in the ticket sales and teclmical production of the musicals JOHNNY STRANGICR and KITTIXVAKE ISLAND presented by the Senior Chorus. As a climax to this year's activities, this chorus participated in the Interseholastic League Regional lklusic lfestival held at Baylor University. l'ai.:e
