Captain 1; ASC E 3. 2. 1; Dean ' s List 2; Scuba Club President 2. 1: French Rangers 4. 3. 2. 1 Doug overcame many obstacles his rat year which helped build his present character, but with his non-regulation hair and eyebrows we all knew he was an old cadet at heart. He tried his hand at many trades including psychanalyst, spy. hypnotist. DDMP. and piano player in Col Prilliman ' s after taps band: yet none of these were written in his Diary of Fate If deeds make a man. then his accomplish- ments as shooter. SCUBA diver, scholar, and (sometimes) gentleman ranker clearly mark him for success. As a brother rat he made good times out of bad. and was always there to help a friend. I ' ll never forget the good times I managed to sneak in. or the bad times that got me, I know that I ' d never do it again, but nevertheless I ' m glad I did, Thanks Mom and Dad for being there and never giving up hope! You would probably expect him to march his Rat company through Washington Arch and spend many a late night at the Frats, Considering his Army Scholarship, his talents were used to command the French Rangers, evening-gun restoration crew, and Seals (ARK-ARK), No one could believe that he could scrounge. I mean earn, a 3,000 during three of four years. But Rob has done all of the above and much more - most of which is unprintable As for the future, we expect Rob to go far. and as always we ' ll be right behind him MOD I would especially like to thank my parents who made going to MVI possible. Danny and I have been roonnmates for three years now and are original members of the 22 gang. Third Class year was the year of the Dear Johns We celebrated Opening Hops by crying in our beers at Duck ' s. Then there was Second Class year. Wouldn ' t it have been great if Ring Figure had been Second Semester?! With the help of Dixie we sur- vived yet another Cabin Party and even became part of Mosby ' s Gang. First Class year has been the Plateau of Cadetship. The thinnest book in the world could be titled: The Weekends We Spent in Bar- ( racks. Yes. We lived in those four concrete walls four whole years too long, but I don ' t think we really went wrong. WRC A lot of people have helped me when I needed help. Someday, perhaps I can return the favor. You know who you are. I ' ve been rooming with Greg for four years and it ' s been a definite experience. Why the Kentucky gentle- man came to V.M.I, instead of UK, I ' ll never know. How the quietest cadet in Foxtrot became a cadre corporal IS also beyond me. According to V.M.I. Greg is an Economics History major but Alex and I know better: Snoozy ' s major is the rack I ' ve never seen anyone sleep more than Snooze . I know Greg will succeed in whatever he does, Greg, we ' ve gone through it all to- gether: I ' m sure we ' ll never forget Phi Psi, Fencing, Mary Baldwin, Zollomans, Florida and all the other great times.
