Special Events Highlight Union Year For more educational entertainment, the Ideas and Interaction Committee selected and planned various speakers. Political lecturer Andrew Young drew an attentive crowd, but ex-Iranian ambassa- dor to the United Nations, Ferydoun Hoveyda, solicited shouting and outrage James Doohan, Star Trek ' s Scotty, attracted loyal trckkies, who donned Spock ears and fired squirt guns. Through- out the year the Ideas and Interaction Committee hosted lunch with the coaches.
