Cheerleaders led the torchlight procession to the Gym for that big pep rally preceding the Rice game. On hand to congratulate Robert St. John on his lecture were Ray Greene, George Nokes, and Norman Blumenthal. Forum Speakers sponsored the talk. Naval ROTC students formed an impressive N in honor of Navy Day during the break at the Rice game. A pep rally parade wouldn ' t be colorful without the band and the students who follow. Willie Russell ' s antics in Cave of Salamanaca proved to be of amusement for Charm Limbaugh, Leni Sobel, and Bill Crain. Another Curtain Club production, Green Grow the Lilacs, packed them in to listen to the cowboy chorus. PACK 175

October hay rides and picnics were extremely popular, and every- one on the band ' s barbecue had a swell time. So much fun called for a picture to be taken. Here band members and their dates smiled for the photographer. J. A. Sauls, national president of Theta Xi, came to Austin to present the local chapter the award for the most improved chapter in the organization. Charles Hill accepted the plaque. Down Alpha Phi way Elaine Jordan does a pie balancing act for her sorority sisters. Some of the D Phi E girls appear to be studying. They ' re Gartner and Rachofsky. Actually, though, the group reading the comics on the floor looks more natural. Oster explains it all for the sisters. Charles Sparenberg relaxes after a busy day. Another Texas Tower Time broadcast at the Union out of the way, students leave for supper.

Clockwise: Cliff Cassidy and Duncan Boeckman chat with Bob Hamilton, that Indian who was at the Pi Phi formal in NOVEMBER. Jim Wharton and Charlotte Mickey as the Devil and the Angel. Tis John Rader (with the teeth) and Kerry Merritt. November was still warm enough for B. J. Warner and her date to go picnicking. Girls will be girls. And Frances Hare takes charge of decorating (that looks like Sally Freeman waving to someone).
