Billy has achieved a prominent position in the campus life of the university during his three years in the Law School as is evidenced by the honors listed above. He has been able to accomplish this on account of his winning personality which has the art of melting all barriers between even mere acquaintances. While campus activities have taken a large part of his time Billy has not let his class work suffer therefrom. At all times he has maintained a high standing. With dual assets, ,a splendid personality and a boundless sup- ply of energy, there is no doubt that Billy will go far and ,accomplish much in law. +++, MARION MOISE Candidate for Degree LL.B. SUMTER, S. C. fl? E H3 H B K German Club. A varied assortment of men gravitate to the Law School. Rather striking qualities are necessary to single out an individual from the group. But mental acuteness, easy diligence, natural poise and unfailing goodphumor should mark a person in any circle. These qualities 'have not failed to illuminate Marion during his stay in Phetigru College. As readily as he has im- pressed us with premonition of success, Marion leaves with us the imprint of genuine personality. RocK HILL, S. C. A 119 A CII Law Associationg Euphradian Literary Societyg Hon or Committee, German Club. In the case of People vs. Dickert, the jury finds the following facts, on abundant evidence: The accused is guilty of making an enviable record- scholastic and campus-in the academic school, and has aggravated this first offense through similar conduct in the School of Law-leaving there a mark of quiet abil- ity and consistent effort. The defendant is further found to be privy to a capacity for exacting work and an inclination to finish what he begins. But, in mitiga- tion of these high crimes and misdemeanors, itappears that the culprit has an unfailingly sunny outlook, an easy adaptability, a genuine relish for social contact and a certain compassion for the sex once called weaken Thus it appears that defendant has a chance of avoiding success but the odds are against it. The verdict of this jury is that circumstances will force the defendant to signal achievement in law, or beyond. 4c'i ii RAYMOND WILLIAMS DOBSON Candidate for Degree LL.B. GAFFNEY, S. C. cl: A CIJg Blue Key President Law Associationg Senior Speaker Law Classg Vice-President Senior Law Classy Treasurer Junior Law Classy Secretary Law Associationg Petigru Law Club, German Club. After going to The Citadel for a year, to Furman for two years, and then plunging headlong into the tempestuous sea of matrimony, Raymond decided that all roads led to the most jealous mistress of them all- law. Thus his presence at Carolina is accounted for. His natural brilliance and ability have already made him the outstanding member of his class. His popu- larity is evidenced by the numerous elective offices be- stowed upon him. With such a solid foundation to work upon, a successful career is a mere matter of time. -:!:':lr'4r' RICHARD WASHINGTON EDGERTON Candidate for Degree LL.B. FLORENCE, S. C. Years ago when Bob first entered the University we all thought that he would be another Shakespeare or Milton, but he decided that the bar Cboth kindsj would be more pleasant than to become immortal. Bob has always shown good sense. As is customary in an article of this kind, you must always predict that the victim will be president of something or at least the greatest man in the world, but I wish to leave 'KBob to make his own record of which I know that we will be all justly proud. WILLIAM DALE TINSLEY Candidate for Degree LL.B. Honors, S. C. K A The case of Uiziivfersity of South Ca1'oli11.a vs. W. D. Tinsley, having come up for trial, counsel for defend- ant moved for postponement, his client being then en- gaged in some intense bridge, with two rubbers yet to play. The motion was disallowed as being dilatory. Whereupon, I. N. Frierson, of the defense, whose de- murrer had been overruled, as matter of course, pleaded guilty for defendant to the charge of three years' servi- tude in the Law Schoolg but contended for the mercy of the court on the grounds: 1. That to his own certain knowledge, defendant was as able and accurate a legal scholar as had entered his domain for many years. 2. That he was informed and reasonably believed the defendant to be as devastating socially as he was pro- ficient legally. 3. That it was a matter of common reputation that defendant had an immense poise, a voluble tongue and a common touch with all men. The court charged these matters, the jury returned a verdict of Guilty, whereupon the judge sentenced the prisoner to receive an LL.B. and to serve a score or so of successful years as a lawyer--at which Mr. Frierson clapped his hands in glee, while the prisoner dissolved in tears and began fumbling for his inevitable 0 af.
