Iowa's firsl College of Law celebrates centennial year A new century of legal research and edu- cation began this year as the College of Law celebrated its centennial. Established in 1865 in Des Moines, the college is the oldest law school of continuous operation west of the Mississippi. It was rnoved to Iowa City in 1868. Dean Mason Ladd retired after heading the College for 27 years. He has been on the faculty since 1929.
