Gamma Phi Beta OFFICERS President . . . . MARYDALE NIERRILL Vice-president . . BARBARA BACON Secretary . . . KAY PAARDEKOOPER Treasurer . . ANN CRAFT Winning first prize among sororities for their Homecoming float, the Gamma Phiis were oil to another busy year. Marydale Merrill led the Scottish Highlanders, and Pat Hafner was feature drum dancer. Also backing the Hawks were cheerleader Elaine Patrou and twirler Ellen Moody. The Gamma Phi's were well represented in campus activities. They were active in Hawk-I Pep club, Seals, University chorus, YWCA and UWA committees. Three girls Worked on the I-IAWKEYE and Daily Iowan. Barbara Work belonged to Theta Sigma Phi. Pat Christie, Sue Murray and Kerin Okerlin as Profile Preview finalists, and Pat Meyers, Quadrangle attendant, brought beauty honors to the Gamma Phi's. SHERRY CRAWFORD The Kappa Alpha Thetais boasted many campus leaders this year. Sally Rehnberg was president of Mortar board, vice-presi- dent of UWA, secretary of the senior class and a Student Council member. Miriam Mogle and Sherry Crawford were on UWA councilg Miriam was chairman of the Pro- file Preview committee and Sherry was chairman of the student-faculty coffee hour committee. Iudy Fry was publicity chair- man for Profile Preview and Kay Bootjer was on UWA Freshman council. Nan Acheson was on YWCA cabinet and Iudy Reagan was on UWA orientation council. Mary Sifford was chairman of the Pan-' hellenic officers, training school committee, and Marge Crabbe was on Central Party committee, Ann Hess and Marilyn Baxter worked on WSUI. Four girls were in Seals, three in Orchesis and six in Highlanders. Nine Theta's worked on the HAWKEYE staff. . The Theta social season was highlighted by the winter formal, Silver Rhapsody, and the spring formal. Thetais and their dates exchange gifts at the Sil- ver Rhapsody formal.
