OOEHRINO PRED KELLY With Chi Phis all over the entire World fighting the Axis in every branch of the service from the Theta Delta Chapter, the brothers remaining pledged up our largest pledge Class in the last five years--26 freshmen. With the Sportsmanship Trophy for the entire School on our mantle, the Chace l-lall boys Went to battle in intramurals under the leadership of Brothers Wood and O'Callaghan. First semester, Bird Dog Thomasson became a major in the cadet infantry Corps and Brother Ray Pearson become Chancellor of the l-lonor Court. At semesters Chi Phi sent three brothers to medical school. Kominski to North- western, Wood to Cornell, and l-lolmes to Tulane. On his way, Kaminski grabbed Phi Kappa Phi honors. Arch Updike received his degree and Was off to Navy school to be an Ensign. Socially speaking it Was another great year, Fall Frolics brought loads of dates and a highly successful Chief Mogul campaign. DeWinkler became president of the pledge class and Fragliardi, my darling, Will never be forgotten. Military Ball, With steak fries, dances, horseback rides, and breakfasts will long be remem- bered around the house. Ogden, the record collector finally deserted his juke box for Camp Blanding and Pike stole the girls' hearts. Kates and Rigby make the West wing look like the Law Library. - Second semester the Theta Delta boys with their Florida Alumni formed the Florida Chi Phi Trust Association to hold our house While we Whip the Japs. Pro- lessor Jim Chace is the first president of the Association. ' War or no War, it was a great year.

Its members are scattered over the four corners of the nation, training in all branches of the service. Holding down the home front, for awhile anyway, are Beatty, D. McCarthy, and Boggs in the ROTC. Gurganious, Miller, and Burr are awaiting the Navy's call and Leite, upon graduation will help fill the Halls of Montezuma. Still waiting are: Worley, Endelicato, Hazlett, and Roberts. Those caught in the draft include: Davis, Miner, Schenkel, Bartlett, and Hall. Morris is helping the Navy to do its job, Taylor, Gehlert, Sanchez, and Gilmour are doing their bit in the Army Air Corps. Goddard became very patriotic lor tired of schooll and volunteered. Ol' I-luman Dynamo Floyd is still hard at it up at Chapel Hill, Those called by the ERC: B. McCarthy and Xanthos. Good luck boys. Delta Chi will be here to greet you upon your return. -
