Tide as the ball sailed between the uprights from the toe of Vic Bradford, Bama quarterback. It was a slow tilt. Greenie offensive begged down and stayed down the whole game. Helping in the bogging though, was little Tider Herky Moseley, who punted beautifully all afternoon. Alabama played a smart game. Their defence was airtight and they diagnosed plays with remarkable ability. The Grecnies couldn ' t go anywhere and the Tide did some fancy prancing up and down the field always being stopped by the Wave line when in a threatening position. Then as the end drew near and the score was still dead- locked at 0-0, Charley Boswell sparked a Tide drive for 35 yards, placing the ball on the Tulane nine-yard marker. With last down and still nine to go. Coach Frank Thomas rushed Bradford into the game and the Bamian ' s educated toe sent the ball through the uprights for a three-pointer, which was the margin of victory. Gloden Galloping Through Georgia HARLEY McCOLLUM Tackle TOMMY O ' BOYLE Guard HENRY FLOWER Center GEORGE CLAY Guard The A-Team (After the L. S. U. Riot): Backs — Payne. Nyhan. Gloden. Brunner (busted anUc). Line — Wenzel, Miller (Captain), Groves, Smith, Dailey, White, Bodney.

Jitterbug Kellogg. Mighty Midget. L. S. U. ' s Waterloo. Crossing Tiger Goal Tulane, 28; Georgia, 6 Billy Payne, who hadn ' t been showing his usual running ability in the early season games, stepped out in the field and turned the Georgia-Tulane game into a rout when he raced spectacularly through the Georgia secondary for three touchdowns and generally ran wild against the Bulldogs. The final score was 28-6. Runs of 24, 12 and 26 yards were made by Payne in his touchdown saunters. Besides that he got loose for several other nice gains in the course of the game. Brunner went for 16 yards and the final touchdown. Georgia scored on a pass from the 18-yard line. Tulane, 38; Sewanee, Sewanee, the little fighting milkfed Tiger, hustled down from the mountain and straggled back after taking a 38-0 shellacking from the Green Wave. Golomb scored two touchdowns, Brunner, Gloden, Banker and Kellogg adding to that to bring the final result. It was just a warmup for the big Tiger tilt the following Saturday. Tulane, 14; Louisiana State, Warren Brunner ' s ankle was broken early in the game and blood was drawn from scores of people — even specta- tors — but the Tulane Greenies smashed and drove their way through the Louisiana State Tigers for two touchdowns and a clear-cut victory at Tiger Stadium before a capacity crowd which had no scruples about joining in the physical contact. The score wound up, 14-0 for the Wave. The Wave lines opened huge holes in the Tiger forward wall, especially on the weak side reverses, and Brunner, Kel- logg, Cassibry, and Banker stepped through for consistent gains. Kellogg was the outstanding back for the Greenies. The firey little jitterbug ripped past big Tigers time and again. Playing with reckless abandon, he stole the whole show. Red Cassibry scored the first one on a 12-yard sweep around left end. Kellogg pushed over the second in the third quarter when he sped from the 6-yard stripe. People roared, goalposts were manhandled and knuckle sand- wiches were had by many. It was a great game — for Tu- lane. FRED BREKKE Tackle LEONARD SAUER Back POPS MARMILLION Back CY HICKEY Guard BILLY BRINKMAN End ' i
