Lacking an experienced player most of the season because of the loss of Bold Caress, only varsity letter winner of last year, the varsity squad Hnished the season with a dismal 14-13 record. Playing most ofthe games for the varsity squad were Rich Simac, Renault Banks Qwho was injured late in the seasonj, Al Dehnert, Len Dahon, and two outstanding sophomoresejohn Mcliilplnen and Leon Clark. Thorntonisjunior varsity squad came up with an excellent 9-2 record, splitting two games with Bloom and losing to Wlest Rockford. Most of the players showed great potential for a stronger varsity squad next year. Sophomore squad wound up another successful season with a 12-5 record and a second place in the South Suburban League. Thornton's frosh squad completed their season with a 7-4 record. The Kits luowed out with a 54-49 win over Bloom. Two more points for Thornton as Renault Banks puts in a swisluer over an opponents head in the Kankakee game.
