He was a member of FCA, Key Club, and played baseball his three years at SG. Besides being nominated for CoIoneI's Lady, LAURA BUCHMEYER was nominated for Most Femi- nine, Most Beautiful, and Friendliest. She was active in the Spanish Club, Beta Club, and Mu Alpha Theta. She also served on the Student Council, Belle Council, Libertas, and Plantation Times. Her other activities included Secretary of NHS and Belle Lieu- tenant. Laura was listed in Who's Who Among American High School students and received All SGHS her Senior year. MIKE ORR, in addition to being Captain of the Varsity football team, won the Fighting Heart Award and was an All-District Defensive back. He partici- pated in FCA for three years. i KIM CARTWRIGHT was a Southern Belle for two years and a Lieutenant during her last year. Further- more, she was a Homecoming Queen nominee. Colonel nominee, STEVE BEAN, was the Offensive Player of the year for 1977-1978. While attending S.G., he participated in FCA and Key Club. Steve played Varsity football for two years and baseball for three years. In addition, he was Captain of the foot- ball team his Senior year and in Who's Who in Texas Football for Athletes. He was also nominated for Wit- tiest, Most Athletic, Class Favorite, and Most Hand- some. Honours 63
