Jim Denton -Center —160 lbs Sen. lor. Elected co-captain by his team-mates. Jim showed groat leadership and spirit. As good on offense cs defense, ho will be greatly missed next year. Wesley Farley -Halfback—Senior Good in all departments, and a wonderful loom mon, Wos was ofton referred to as old reliable . Chosen os co-captain, he was worthy of the honor. Allen Butts Tackle—205 lbs.— Senior—Allen's size, desire, and knowledge of the gamo made him one of the finost lineman on the team. He wos chosen as the Most Valuable player by his teammates. THE P L I Dick Beers -Fullback—185 lbs.--Senior. A power runnor who puts his weight into the opponents line for many long gains, Dick was a great asset to the team this year. Gary Fortenberry—End- 160 lbs —Senior. Gory used his speed and olusiveness to good advantage on both offense ond defense. He will bo hord to replace. William Fulton—Halfbock—Senior. Willie wos perhops the hardest runner on the teom. His grit and determination will be a loss next year. Sid Godbee Quarterback -Senior. Talented in all departments with a special knock for defense, Sid goes to tho Univorsity of Alabama on an athletic scholarship next year. Hayes Hoobler- Guard- 190 lbs —Senior. Hayes' determination ond strongth gavo us addod ability at ho guard posts. Ho showod fine spirit all through the season. Nowlin Keener—Senior 190 lb'.. Nowlin, big ond rugged, wos us?d at both tackle and guard. His fine play earned him a scholarship to the University of Mississippi. He will be missed next year.

Bob Kidd -Quarterback Senior —A slick ball handler and exceptional play caller. Bob will bo missed next yoor. John Moynord -Tackle—230 lbs. —Senior. This was John's first year with the team, but his hard work and willingness to learn made him o valuoblo reserve. Mike Meatheringhom Tackle—215 lbs.—Senior. Big Mike sparked the team the first part of the season, but his valuable service was missed in the lost few gomes duo to a kneo injury. He received a scholarship to the University of Georgia for his fine work. V Steve Morton -End- 165 lbs. -Senior. Steve missed most of the sjo-son bccouse of a back injury. His hard work ond fine spirit will bu greatly missed next year. Billy Turner—Fullbock—Senior- Moon's speod and deception made him a valuable ployor all season. Ho will be a loss to next year's team. lewis Aiken— End -170 lbs.—Junior. Rooster , at 6'4 , was one cf the finest receivers in tho county. His hard work gained him a place on the Second All-County Team. Ho will be bock next year. Johnny Bollongcr End 155 lbs. — Junior — Johnny’s determination and ability to learn earned him o place on tho first team. Much will bo expected of him next year. Tops Chew—Tackle- 220 lbs Junior—Tops proved to be invaluable on the right side of tho line. He wos a pillar of strenght on defense. Watch him next year. Roy Gilbert End 165 lbs. -Junior—Roy's fine relief work shownd tho cooches o good prospect for next year’s squad. He is fast, a hard worker, and determined.
