'f' 'I , To take state was the goal of the 1968-69 boys, tennis team and they realized this goal as they tied with Muskogee for the championship. Num- ber one man Daryl Hess was defeated in the state finals but Phil Landauer won his bid for the number two spot state championship. ln the doubles competition, the team consisting of Bruce Barger and Larry Randle pro- gressed to the finals, but were then defeated. Po Hi Girl's Tennis Team Places Third in State Po-Hiis 1968-69 Girl's Tennis Team completed a very successful year, par- ticipating in four tournaments. At Midwest City, they placed third, and at Alva, captured first place. Hosting the Ponca City tournament, they came out in second place. Competing in the state tourney at Norman, the team won third and Beverly Barger received second place in the girl's number one singles. Ann Skidmore won the Dorothy Hankins trophy as the outstanding senior member of the team. Receiving the Dorothy Hankins trophy was senior Ann Skidmore.
