Every Zebra staff is always determined to be the best yet, and thats just how the en- thusiastic group of '59-'60 members felt at the beginning of the year. Each theme committee, with a spirit of friendly rivalry, set out to make its suggestion the one selected. Linda Ellis, loan Allen, Bobbie Cunningham, Bri1ce'R5'5er'ts and Linda Lou Rodgers were on the winning group. Patt Byrd made feature drawings in keeping with the theme. As editor, Royce lohnson was the best! He set an example of all business and no goofing oft. He took the lead with each section and gave Van Moore, business manager, invalu- able aide. Suzan Brewster did a good job as Royce's assistant secnon. Headed by Marty Andrews, the ad section began their campaign the first of September. Though every staff member helped, Marty's assistants were Linda Rodgers, Linda Ellis, and Bob McLelland. Staff secretary, Cherry Holli- day, assisted as typist. Robin lordan not only led the staff in ad sales but also had :i busy year lining up students for organization pictures in the ac- and editor of the faculty tivity section. Linda Chavis, who also was a willing worker on the ad section, assisted Robin with the activities. Carolyn Warriner and loan Allen as class editors werexbusy rnalgingxappointments with the pho fapher, typ1ngTapsy, and planning lay-o s enry, Bobbve Cunningham, an cla Worl em,-4'ffost capable as- sist .g wappearing for the first time in a Zebra is tlie two-page spread of the ldeal Boy and Girl selected by the Senior Class. William Lee Iohnson as photographer was usually first on the job and among the last to leave. Bill McColgan gave considerable help with snapshots. Both boys cooperated not only with staff heads but also Bruce Roberts, make- up editor. Sandra Nunnally, who worked at just about everything, was particularly good at organizing snapshots. Bobby VV'atker spent many hours on the sp f certainly did a commend- able job. And the juniorseRita Rowell, Penny Perdue, Sandra Mead, Nell Phillips, and Rod Chastante- certainly learned some of the satis- factions and tensions that result from yearbook production.
