V ae- f..e'- e Mr. Kenneth Baumgardner Director of Choral Music Miss Grace Crump Choral Teacher In addition to playing for the football game s, the band co- operates with community celebrations and drives by marching in parades in Pampa and nearby towns and by furnishing music for other c ivic gatherings. Two concerts to which the public is invited are presented each yearg they are the Winter Clon- cert and the S pr ing C o nc e r t following the band clinic. The annual assembly c onc e rt was, for the first time, broadcast over station KPDN this year. I .- . fl ' , - v' ' ii i , W i .i I' , W, g , ., i J .I ,I i f . li A H . . ,i ii I I I Highlights of the year 1949-1950 for the A Cappella Choir was their trip to Dallas to attend the Highland Park Festivalg the Spring Fe stivalg the Interscholastic League Contest in Canyong the presentation of the king and queen, Paul Boswell and Nina Spearman, in assemblyg the choral clinic which was held in Pampa in Marchg and their Chr i stm a s Concert and c a r oling party. This group also sang for many of the civic clubs and for the elementary schools. The mixed choruses and the Girls' Glee Club took part in the Spring F e stivalg in the Christmas Concert, for which they worked very hard to learn The Heavens Are Tellingg and the High School Choral De- partment Clinic. Mr. Baumgardner sup- ervises choral music in all Pampa schools and directs the A Cappella Choir and two mixed choruses. Miss Crump teaches a mixed chorus andthe girls' glee club at high school and choral c la s s e s at junior high school. Mr. Butler and Mr. Means train the band in concert playing and in the marching formations which they plan for performance during the halftime period at football games.
