For over twenty years Notre Dame has had the good fortune of having a librarian who not only is compassionate and helpful but who is totally dedi- cated to the cause of educating others. Mrs. Jeanne Rader is retiring this year and she s looking forward to a well deserved rest but we will all sorely miss her valuable services. that first year she taught Remedial English but she later became assistant librarian to Mother Mary Robert. ln 1964 she was promoted to the position of head librarian and chairperson of the Library Department. Some of Mrs. Rader s duties have included the direction of the student library assistants pro- gram. This project has given interested students the opportunity to learn the mechanics of library administration and Mrs. Rader has been involved in it for approximately fifteen years. Also annually Mrs. Rader came to our school in 1958. During Mrs. Jeanne Rader, Sister Margaret Huley Win., l Q .... she presents a library orientation for all of the freshmen English classes. Mrs. Rader has been ea- ger to serve everyone - faculty and administra- tion members as well as students. Many individuals in the school feel that Mrs. Raders availability in helping them through the learning process has not been surpassed by many people. As one student puts it Whenever we can t find something she will always offer to help. She really knows our library inside and out. lt comes as no surprise then, that Mrs. Rader has further been described as, a librarians' librarian. She has created a calm, quiet and bright atmosphere for study and in that way she has enriched us all. Mrs. Jeanne Rader has given her very best to Notre Dame and the superior quality of our library is certainly proof of that. We salute you, Mrs. Rader, and we wish you health and happiness in your retirement. LIBRARIAN RETIRES AFTER 20 YEARS ,, I fn g .5 by V.: 3. Q l 'ii 72 it if 2 2?
