w a oiltaon Music The door of opportunity is open to any Northern student who takes music as a part of his curriculum Music Improves a person S character and personality It gives him a good cultural background for the future Music also gives the student a chance to participate rn many of North ern s school programs During the month of December, Northern has a Christmas program In which all the music groups take part The band is active during pep assemblies, football games and clvrc entertainments The choir and glee clubs have a sprung concert and sung at various functions during the school year ui One two three counts the familiar voice of Mr Allan Walters as he leads the band rn some of its numbers Members are practicing Inside for the half time programs during the foot ball games Pictured are Karen Ketchum Tom McCroy Kathie Ketchum John Comfort and Isabelle Daley , xo', V Mr. Bumgarner rehearses the boys' glee club as Mike Fizell, Edward Craine, Burt Biggs, John Duve, Bill Irving, Curtis Davis, Dave Wilt, James Daniels and Frank Jones gather around the piano to keep a careful ear on the harmony.
