N 1870 Norristown citizens realized a dream come true-the building of their own public high school. That same year the need for a mot- to which would serve as a challenge and goal to every pupil embarking on his high school career was realized. Learn and Live to Serve was the choice. XX'e sincerely believe that this motto covers every phase of our varied school life and for that reason we have chosen it as the theme for the yearbook of 1940. Through our learning in the class room, liv- ing together, and serving each other and our school, we are better prepared to meet the great problems that lie ahead.
