Laura Maliam represented Norman High School at the Spanish-Amcrican Fiesta. Linda Toberman was this year’s recipient of the Betty Crocker Award in Norman, and continued on to the state contest. Students Take Individual Honors Representatives to Girls’ and Boys’ State were: Susie Amspachcr, Marty Nelson, Carolyn McPherson, John Hemphill, David Robinson, Ken Maddox, and Jim Hoover. Every year in Norman High there is a group of students who receive the aw ards and honors of the school. These awards arc obtained through hard work, and the students who receive them are especially deserving. There is a great variety of awards which are earned in a great many ways—elections, exami- nations, grades, and also by the choices of civic clubs through nominations and completed forms. The awards are distinguishing and advance the reputations of the recipients as well as their chances for future awards.
