The council, under the leadership of lN1ilt Krueger, presi- dentg Dick Riley, vice-preside-ntg Susan Swart, secretaryg and Janet Eide, treasurer, was very influential in guiding student affairs for the 1949-50 school year. Mr. Douglas was their adviser. Nestled among the group's many accomplishments was seeing that the various clubs and groups in school functioned properly and according to their constitutions. The play was about a neglected shack in the back yard of Plews' home that sudden- ly everyone in the family wanted to use at the same time. The Lost Suitcaxen was the title of the play given by the class of '53. Ivon Long directed this comedy about an impersonating old lady and a pair of identical locked suitcases that got mixed up. Carol Newton, Gail Seidel and Judy Palmer held the leads in the all-girl play. The junior play, 'AThe Lost Elevatorf' was the humorous tale of an elevator that stalled be- tween two floors. For her performance in the merry mix-up, directed by Chuck Burgess, Carolyn Col- cord won the best actress honors. Jerry Young as the colored elevator operator held the other lead.
