From the middle of the afternoon to the late hours of the night, striving men work over the slowly fill- ing forms, writing last minute headlines and streamers . . . just a few more continue lines . . . those last few spaces to be filled with humorous catches . . . that final moment when page proofs are pulled and the slips that pass in the night are corrected. The triumph of another week's work is climaxed at the Muskingum l-louse or the Dairy, where the fruits of labor are rewarded by that weekly indulgence, and midnight dissipation Early in the morning, while the rumbling press is still keeping the weary sufferers on the upper floor from enjoying a good night's rest, in there walk several sleepy men, aroused by duty's call . . . the circulation department. Their chief weekly enjoy- ment. . . pasting the name of some fair, fond, flat- footed friend. Rolling papers for the mail . . . rid- ing the printer to keep awake. Then at the break of dawn the weary laborers are seen wending their way slowly up the college drive . . . work done . . . filled with a strangely happy feeling . . . a feeling that tells them that they have a full week ahead of them . . . in which to restfully recuperate. The paper is under student manage- ment, the major positions on the staff are elected by a board of control and they in turn select their as- sistants through competitive tryouts. Man Bites iHoti Dog at the Dairy, Johnson Hall Tucks Away Anything from Rats to Bookworms, Melody l?i Floods the Library -with these and other news topics, the B. G M. has begun its weekly action. The news writing and editing is done by staff reporters and staff heads. Talking it Over informs us of Muskingum's sports, Literary Haberdashery is made up of random essays. Mark My Word -- we then peep through the keyhole to see the gossip of the campus. The Poetry column is an outlet for student verse, Hobnobbing with Society informs us of the social events. During the year special issues appear. The razz is- sue is published by the Alpha Phi Gamma during mid-year exams. The homecoming issue is quite a treat to the alumni, and the freshman issue shows up talent in the freshman class. A

As the crystal is polished it is possible to see a group of people-some are concentrating, others are talk- ing excitedly. They seem to be discussing a topic of great importance. Ah, the picture can now be seen more clearly. This group is the Muscoljuan Staff. ln one corner the paper cutter is being used in a war- like manner, heads and arms are being cut off, and even hair cuts are being given. Rubber cement is be- ing smeared on some one's back so he will stay when once put in his place. What has happened? Oh, the fifteen inch ruler has been mistaken for a fourteen inch one and a page of pictures has to be ripped off. Now it is possible to see still more clearly in the crys- tal. One girl is collecting the shoulders of her best beau which have been cut off by the butcher at the paper cutter, and is storing them away to gaze upon later. The latest jazz has just been tuned in on the radio, and it is possible to hear what the group is now doing. As the picture fades there can be seen in the future a book of reflections, which may cause many to reminisce over those college days on the hill.
