The Great Writings of Luther in English Works of Martin Luther The works have been translated in their entirety. The editors have had no other desire than to say in English what Luther said in German and in Latin. They have suppressed nothing, but have allowed Luther to speak his own mind in a new language. Most of the works are here put into English for the first time. Of the fifteen writings contained in the first two volumes, ten have never been translated into English before. The translators are men of known scholarly ability. They are eminently qualified for the work they have undertaken to do, and it is being done with the utmost care.
