That chant described the cheer- leaders' spirit and enthusiasm, on campus, at games, and at pep assemblies. In July the Varsity Cheerleaders went to cheer camp for five days in Los Angeles. While there, they won the Spirit Sticlc, and had the chance to compete for the awards of excellence. Camille Harris was awarded All-American Cheerleader. The J.V. Cheerleaders went to cheer camp in Prescott for five days, where they won the Grand Championship award out of forty other schools. They were also awarded for their perfection. The last month of summer the Cheer- leaders practiced from 6:00-8:oo a.m. every day to perfect their cheers. Cheering involved a lot of personal time such as making treats for football players, and practicing before assemblies. Fund raisers included selling candy, hav- ing a car wash, and giving out hot dogs and colces, for which they received 5200. Jill Zawacki displays a single stag . I jump- '5 Susie Herron displays a double stag jump. Tammi Tempel does a hurdler jump. Diana Bosley performs a back arch. H.E.R.O.'s ERO is not just another club. It is a working program that deals with Home Economics Related Occupa- tions, such as floral designer, childcare aide, consumer aide, model, and host or hostess. Their supervisor, Ms. Sue Clark, held classes concerning Home Economics and business. She also observed each student at work. Some of fund raisers they had were sell- ing candy, and having a car wash. Learning Cultures merican Field Service offered stu- dents a chance to go visit other countries for a year to learn about different ways other people live. Although none of the foreign exchange students came here through this service our foreign exchange students found instant friends in the club members.
