Society of Petroleum Engineers The MSU Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers is an organization cor posed of petroleum engineering students and professors. This organization involved in numerous activities throughout the year. Last fall, members of SPE jou neyed to Dallas, Texas to attend the 50th Annual Meeting of the Society of Petr leum Engineers of AIME. SPE sponsors a picnic each semester. Society for Advancement of Management The Society for Advancement of Management, the pioneer in man- gement philosophy, has been dedicated to the promotion and dvancement of the arts and science of management. The varied activ- ies of the individual chapters are developed to further the growth of 11 students regardless of their academic major. Activities enable the tudents to put to use the principles of good management, organization lanning, and control in the operations of the chapter. They learn by oing. Society of Biological Engineers The Society of Biological Engi- neers is composed of Biological Engineers at Mississippi State. The Society helps expose engi- neers to fields related to biological engineering and provides inform- ation concerning jobs available upon completion of school. Information concerning graduate schools with programs in biologi- cal and biomedical engineering is provided to its members. Activi- ties of the Society include bi- annual picnics, exhibits during High School Day and Open House in the Spring. The Wildlife Society exists primarily to benefit humanity through professional endeavors. Secondarily, the individual benefits from the program efforts. The Society believes that wildlife is closely interrelated with other natural resources and that wildlife should have a permanent place in our culture. It encourages wisely-determined uses and programs to enhance the biological, educational, aesthetic, recreational, social and com- mercial values of wildlife as part of a complete environment. 147
