5613- itea, I9 like 58-59 10 .7eam MILLERSBURG 57 JEFFERSON 56 Millersburg won it's initial game of the 1958-59 season, a thrilling double overtime, which was won by Ron Gardner connecting on two foul shots in the second overtime period. MILLERSBURG 53 NEW PARIS 62 Millersburg, leading at all three quarter stops, lost its first game of the season when it failed to suppress a spirited rally by a hustling New Paris team. MILLERSBURG 56 LIGENIER 49 Playing one of its finer games of the season, Millers- burg scored a major upset over a tough experienced Ligonier team. The Millersburg victory was aided by good shooting from the outside hitting 22 for 45 for a per cent of 48.9. MILLERSBURG 35 JIMTOWN 50 Experiencing an off night the Millersburg team lost its second game of the season to a hot J irntown team on J imtown's floor. MILLERSBURG 72 LEESBURG 50 Jumping to an early lead, the Millersburg team won an easy victory against Leesburg. MILLERSBURG 60 SHIPSE-SCOTT 55 Traveling to Shipshewana, the Millersburg team won its second consecutive game by outscoring a good Shipshe-Scott team the first three quarters and hold- ing back a Shipshe-Scott rally to save the game. MILLERSBURG 42 SYRACUSE 60 Overpowered by a seasoned tall Syracuse team, the M. team suffered their third loss of the season. MILLERSBURG 45 CONCORD 102 The Concord Minutemen smarting from a thorough defeat at the hand of the Millersburg Millers last year, gained revenge by defeating the Millers 102- 45. MILLERSBURG 68 WOLF LAKE 60 Millersburg playing away from home pulled a sur- prise upset victory over the Wolf Lake veteran team. The Millers will finish their season Friday against Topeka, hoping to even their mark at 10-10. We drew Shipshe-Scott in the first round of the sec- tiona.l. We defeated them at their place 60-55 earlier, but since then they have lost only to Middleburg, Howe Military, and Wolf Lake in close contests. With a good game, however, we should win our first round game, although we will know we've been in a contest. MILLERSBURG 59 CROMWELL 58 Millersburg again playing in the Wolf Lake gym, won another upset victory over a tall Cromwell team in a close contest. MILLERSBURG 61 NEW PARIS 66 Millersburg suffered its fifth loss of the season at the hands of hot field goal shooting New Paris team. MILLERSBURG 46 BRISTOL 49 Millersburg almost pulled an upset by leading Bris- tol most of the way. Losing out in the last two min- UISS. MILLERSBURG 61 WAKARUSA 56 CO. Tourney Millersburg scoring heavy in the third quarter won the opening game of the 1959 Co. Tourney by a score of 61 to 56, hitting 19 of 25 free throws. MILLERSBURG 36 JEFFERSON 41 The Millers were upset by Jefferson in the Millers second game of the County Tourney when they failed to stop a third quarter comeback by Jefferson. The Millers had their coldest night at the free throw cir- cle, missing on 18 out of 24. MILLERSBURG 73 WAWAKA 69 Coming back from their tourney defeat the Millers defeated a spirited Wawaka team. Glen Troyer led the Millersburg attack with 30 points. MILLERSBURG 67 WAKARUSA 62 The Wakarusa Indians failed to revenge their defeat in the county tourney, when the Millers defeated them 67-62 on the Millers home court. Troyer had 27 points. MILLERSBURG 63 MILFORD 88 Millersburg met with a surprising upset when they were defeated by a Milford team that scored heavily in the second and fourth quarter, as they hit 59.3070 of their shots from the field. We were without C ripe. MILLERSBURG 57 ROME CITY 762 The Millers were defeated by a rough Rome City five on their home court. The Millers were behind 24 points going into the final quarter, after a cold third quarter.
