The -IV 'A' volleyball team had a smashing season with 15 wins and 6 losses, a total of 21 games. Captains janet McCrorey and Gina Nachbar, both juniors, led the team through their easiest game, against Boise, and their har- dest game, against Nampa. Setting and hitting were among the team's best points. .IV 'B', an all-sophomore team, also had a good season. As a whole, thejV team showed good sports- manship and school pride. f . :WW M Photo by M. Peckham. VARSITY VOLLEYBALL ACHIEVES STATE Girls' Varsity Volleyball went to district this year, where they lost the title game to Nampag 15-13, 16-14, 15-11. Thanks to the outstanding finish at District, they got to go to the State Tournament in Pocatello. There they suffered a hard-fought, emotional loss late in the tourna- ment. In spite of the loss, the girls felt that State was their best experience of the season. Another highlight for the girls was winning the Wood River Invitational. Meridian placed first among eight of the top high school volley- ball teams in the state. The girls stayed together as a team the entire year, showing cooperation and sportsmanship. Page by Y.
