SEASQ . . .Q Nl ER T0 FCRGET rw 'l l Q. 1 ll- ,-f ls., -'ui'--...,.. -.,.,-..., Ranked as 31 in pre-league season, volleyball had a rough image to live up to. The season started off with a bang, beating last year's District contenders Shadle Park. The remainder of the season roller coasted up and down. Winning tough matches, and losing some closely, were all apart of the ride. Volleyball ended the league with a 10-6 record. Seeded 114 at Districts, the power and intensity became clear when volleyball won three straight games to become the District champs. Great setting by Kathy Toutant and Molly Miller helped strengthen the team. Senior Hitters Stacey Douglass, jenniferJones, ,Iolynn Knudsvig, Michelle Benson, and Dianne Schultz also added to the winning picture. Hopes for a high place at state were lowered with some team suspensions, but never quitting Coach Mike Fleming took a team of eight to state. The three varsity and five junior varsity finished 13th. A great accomplishment for the volleyball program at Mead High. 1. The team jumps for joy at anoth- er victory. 2.Kathy Toutant shows superb form in a perfect back set. 3.
