Panthers Come Back Home H9ain Springing up September 16-21, Homecom- ing Week 1974 broke the long-standing tra- dition of a Homecoming for the last home game. Weirdos roamed the halls Monday as stu- dents dressed in crazy costumes. Garb ranged from girls in pajamas to guys in cheerleading uniforms. Hot bidding marked Tuesday's Slave Day as A.S. B. officers and Varsity Cheerlead- ers were auctioned off to raise a total of 363. 95 for A.S. B. funds. Wednesday evening students hopped in their wheels and headed for the Car Rally. A line of decorated cars wound its way around the Spokane area to Linwood Park for a picnic of chicken and all the trim- mings. Due to air pollution standards, the annual bonfire was recalled this year and replaced by the Senior Class Hayride. Drill Team's Pancake Feed Friday morn- ing got the big day off to a good start. Mark Hansen won the title Best Porker by down- ing 30 pancakes hot off the girddles of Mr. Griffiths and Mr. Silvernail. A heartbreaking loss was dealt the mighty Panthers Friday night. The Moses Lake Chiefs sneaked by Mead with a touchdown in the second quarter. Despite valiant Panther effort the game ended Moses Lake 6-Mead 0. The crowd stepped to the tunes of Shazam for this year's homecoming dance.
