Q-llouqh-a-mon Bw:-kethttll FX Resume of the Season LTHOUGH the team won nine out of fifteen games, the season was considered one of the best. Never before had a Red and Blue five faced such a tough sche- dule. The teams that were met were all good, but the hard part of it was the way X N they were met. The local five opened its season with Glasspost on the local floor. With little , difficulty we came out victoriously. A few days later our team met Clairton on their T home floor, and again we returned home victorious. Then came Homestead. Here 4 I X we received our first setback. Duquesne appeared next on our court. Again we suffer- hx ed a sharp defeat. After these two reverses the team started playing together again to . get into a winning mood. Munhall, Turtle Creek Union, and Elizabeth were met in order, and each time we came through on top. The last game ended the first half of the basketball campaign. We got off to another good start in the second half on the schedule. Again Glassport and Clairton were met and defeated in rapid succession. Then came the S biggest game on the local schedule, the varsity vs. faculty. The varsity gave the u ' faculty a few lessons along this line of sport, in addition to handing them a severe set- T ii C back. Then came Homestead. For the second time we suffered defeat. Duquesne was met next. Again she sent us home defeated, but still fighting. Turtle Creek ' g Union came here and got revenge for the defeat she had received earlier in the season. 1 E Elizabeth appeared for the last home game. After a hard struggle we again came x y through victorious. The basketball campaign came to a close when we were given a 1 . surprise at Munhall. Munhall had an on night, and received plenty of revenge for the defeat she had received in the first part of the campaign. Capt. Whitehead played his last year for Tech High, along with McDonnell and I Flynn. Their fighting spirit kept the Red and Blue near the top throughout the ' A campaign. In Berquist we found a very capable center. Next year we are looking for ..,j'-v N I Berky to come through in great style. In McCracken we had a very line guard. ' Vukmanic, Layton, and Weinberger were always found ready when needed. All .. proved they were more than substitutes. I' 'N Much credit is due to Coach Horse Chase for whipping such a good team into E shapeifgollp the new material on hand and with such a schedule to work on.
