Although the freshmen basketball team only won two games this year, there were many chances for more victories. Ten of their games were decided by eight points or less. The single biggest asset of the team was their quickness. Many opponents were often seen with their tongues hanging. In fact you could get tired just watching the freshmen run up and down the court. The team was led by Darrin Domingo and Chris Holland, both whom averaged 12 points per game. The trio of J.D. Torrez, Jeric Santos, and Mike DeSisto were three of the fastest players to be seen on a basket- ball court this year. This hustling band of freshmen did their best not to let their record get them down. Their never quit at- titude should form a good nucleus for the junior varsity team next year. — Coach Mike Moretine. The 1983-84 edition of girls ' Varsity Basketball proved to be a surprising success. When it was all over, the Stars rolled up an impressive 20-5 record, captured the Camino Real League Cham- pionship, and advanced to the second round of C.I.F. Playoffs where they fell to number one seeded San Gabriel High School. The Seniors, Melanie Jones, Sylvia Bauer, Lisa Di Leva, Debbie Rosso, and Jeanette Marinovich along with Juniors Christine Bogdonovich and Janet Trainotti proved to be the core of the team. The effort of 1983-84 can truly be described as a team effort.
