Dennis Nasitka and Frank Poppie Jr. chaperoned the trip. 264! Washington, D.C. Trip At 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 21 excited Keppel students took off from L.A. airport and headed for Washington, D.C. Five hours later in the nation's capitol the students were greeted by below freezing temperatures and a slow ad baggage claim system. During the next four days the stu- dents toured the capitol and Wil- liamsburg, Va. The trip came to a climax at the inauguration where the students viewed incoming president Ronald Reagan take the Oath of Office. Other highlights of the trip in- cluded a visit to the Capitol Build- ing where local congressman George Danielson met the group and gave them a VIP tour of the building. They also visited such historic sites as The Lincoln Me- morial, The Washington Monu- ment and Jamestown, Va., site of the first settlement in the new world.
