Sporls wrilers called +his one ol lhe beller cle- lensive games ol lhe year as lhe Lancers and lhe Palriols ballled lo a O-O lie. Snow kepl us lrom playing a non-league game againsl Golden lhe nexl week, bul il gave us lime lo prepare lor a greal game againsl Kennedy lhe week aller. Even lhough we played one ol our poorer games, we easily gol lhe Bronze Derby back by winning Zl- l2. We showed I-low lhe Wesl Was Won lhe nexl game, and our Homecoming was successlul. Gur nexl game was a hearl-slopper againsl Soulh. All year everyone was looking ahead lo lhe TJ game, and we had lo win lhis one belore we could ever hope lor lhe- Cily Championship. Now lhe nerves were more lense lhan ever. The leam, luckily, was more conlidenl lhan nervous, as we lromped 20-I3 over TJ. Because ol snow, lhe game was played on Tuesday, so we had lillle lime lo gel ready lor Manual and losl 27-24. In Lincoln's lirsl Slale Championship game, lhe Lancers were delealed 40-l4. Team caplains were Lyle Gonzales, Mike Lopic- colo, and Curl Ulkes. Sleve Mendez was named lo lhe All Slale Team.
