J GIRLS VARSITY TRACK The girls varsity track team lost many outstand- ing athletes to graduation, but the 1989 squad had great expectations for a winning year. The team was young, primarily led by sophomores and jun- iors, but the abilities of the Lady Lancers were evidenced all season long. The distance team was paced by sophomores Lucinda Reyes and Erica Nelson, while the sprinters were led by returning junior Anginell Anderson. Seniors LaToni Rob- inson and Shayla Warren dominated the hurdles, while field event performers Kim Phelps and Char- on Johnson were consistent point scorers in each meet. This well-balanced group worked very hard toward success for the individuals involved, and for the team as a whole. 1. Tiffany Hunt showed off her skill in the high jump. 2. Distance star Lucinda Reyes was out in front once again. 3. The sky was the limit for jumper Rosalyn Favre. 4. Ann Eble and Kim Archer glided over the hurdles. 5. The teamwork of Anginell Anderson and LaToni Robinson led to another Lancer victory. 6. Charon Johnson sprinted past everyone in this race. 7. Long jumper Ann Eble kicked up some sand on her attempt. 8. A quick start was on Anginell Anderson ' s mind. 9. Shayla Warren ' s experience resulted in excellent hurdling technique. 10. The relaxing aspect of track and field was evidenced by Charon Johnson, Nicole Cortz, and Tiffany Hunt. 11. Kim Phelps put forth the maximum effort in the shot put. 12.
