Fred Stenton Coach George Francisco Dave Purto INEXPERIENCED NETMEN LOOK FORWARD 'TO SUCCESSFUL SEASON Coach George Francisco developed many fine tennis players, who will prove to be a great help to next year's squad. Francisco lettered eleven men and will only lose four from his team due to graduation. They are Dick johnson, Rick Moses, Mike Covey and Fred Stenton. Lettermen returning to next year's team are Mike Meacher, Lloyd Little, Bill Demmin, Dave Piirto, Ed Israel, Ed Kennedy and Terry Hawkins. Many top junior Varsity prospects will report to the varsity team next year. BASEBALL Under the coaching of coachHarry Gruber, varsity baseballers concluded the season with more wins in Sunset League competi- tion than any previous Highlander team. Pitcher Mike Sloan, a transfer, picked up the pitching deficit and also starred with some timely hitting. Dwight Clark led the Sunset League batters for the first half ofthe season with a .450 batting average. Clark is also a probable all-league nominee along with Mike Sloan.
