ACTIVITIES Once agarn we have come to the end of another school year Krngs erghtreth and rt rs only frttrng that we should rcvrew the actrvrtres that have clarmed the rnterest of the undergraduate body durrng the 1954 55 school year A schools actrvrtres are an rm portant part of rts lrfe and the lrves of rts students In thrs respect Krng rs fortunate Desprte the fact that we attend a small rnstrtutron there are many actrvrtres rn whrch the students are able to partrcrpate The Student Csouncrl holds a promrnent place here at Krng Under the leadershrp of Peter Talbott and later Thomas Strother the Councrl successfully weathered rts thrrd year Certarn rmprovements hrgh lrghted a more effectrve and respected demerrt system brought renewed backrng to the organrzatron both rn proctorshrp of the study halls and rn general drs crplrne around the school grounds A new after school clean up program was rnaugurated whrch rm measurably rmproved the appearcnce of the burldrng A large group of students and therr fathers at tended the fifth annual Father Son Drnner whrch was grven on March 24 The food vsas excellent leaxrng everyone rn good sprrrts to enloy the remarnder of the ewenrng An excellent program of entertarnment follovxed The Prom Commrttee was organrzed early rn February at whrch trme a theme was selected O May 6 the day bcfore the dance the entire upper school turned out to decorate and to spruce up the burldrng The dance rtself was well attended and proved an enloyable evenrng to all The Safety Patrol under Captarn Mrchael Water man has completed rts second year at Krng Com posed of selected Frfth and Srxth Graders rt has been rnstrumental rn marntarnrng the orderly entrance and egress of the Lower School especrally on the starts and at the doorways These boys are also sta troned at pornts along the drrveway so as to prevent any of the smaller boys from scamperrng rn front of an oncomrng automobrle They have also kept the younger boys well behaved on the playrng fields and rn thc school durrng movres Krng Schools 1955 Freld Day was held on May 14 and proved a great success The Senrors labored over the barbecues and the track events were run off In the afternoon the baseball rrvalrres were reopened Varsrty vs Alumnr ayVee vs Fathers and the junror League Team vs Low Heywood Thus thrs event rang down the curtarn on another successful years actrvrtres at Krng 74 , ' 4 , 4 I . fl . , . .A . . . 2 h I . 1 , a 1 . . . . .
