The young Knights fought tirelessly and with the determination of battle-weary troops. The Knights paid the price of inexperience in Fifty-nine. They lost no pride While going through a losing season. Our boys played with all their hearts and all their physical ability, bringing honor to Kimball. The final score was 26-8 in favor of Bryan Adams, Friday night, September II, at Sprague Field, but all that glittered was not golden Cougar furg Kimballls Knights also shone as they made their city football competition debut by playing the team picked to win the North Zonel Adams received the opening kickoff and managed to score I3 points in 2 quarters before the Knights got down to business. Suddenly, halfback John Atwood pulled on his dancing shoes and displayed 63 yards worth of fancy brokenfield waltzing before he was finally tripped up on the Cougar IT! Several plays later, half- back Raymon Brown swept right end for 6 yards and as many pointsl Brown immediately racked up 2 extras on the same play. Kimball out-maneuyered the Cougars all through the third quarter, but late in the fourth. Bryan Adams.tallied twice to wrap up the opening game of the season, 26-8.
