To each, ez memory of those wonderful days.. I froze as we waltzed down York street, blurted bandman Tom Jensen. Georgene Steele's teeth chartered so much lat the 'second' game she didn't drink her lhot chocolate. Pat Bateman met Karen Sontag when she brought her young sis- ters to be crown bearers. jim Hanley's memories of the week are bitter. His car was stolen during the football game. Roger Goski said the B Squad played in mud for their game. Kathy Amey had E Spectrum Club members, Mike Mulvaney and john Cook wave at spectators as their gayly decorated float snakes down York street. Judy Ahlman hangs multi-colored balloons in the gym in preparation for the Homecoming dance. a double homecoming - the dance and a boy friend. Brad Enerson spent weeks ar- ranging for the night off for the post- poned football game. Mike Gabriel nursed his broken nose. Isabel Clemens and Kar- en Anderson froze in Pat Gilbert's con- vertible. A session at the Purple Onion was Mary Laszcwski's goal after the game. Jan Jensen's electric guitar went dead dur- ing a power failure at the talent show . . . and so many other memories ..... CTR Bearniks, Chuck Fredericksen, John Olson, john Bergman and Pete Falkman pose beside their official Homecoming car before parade time. 1959 Winter Carnival Queen, Karen Sontag, places the crown on Queen Ostebo's pate as jerry Ricci looks on. Mr. McMann stands by to assist.

Gary Lind and Tom Jensen twirl Nan- cy johnson and Shirley Coes to the syncopation of Rich Clausen's Band. Four-hundred and seventy-five other classmen and alumni attended the dance. johnson bandmen spiritedly march down traffic abandoned York street on their way to the traditional Payne Avenue Homecoming parade. Barb Reibel and friends applaud their approval as the crowns are placed on our new Homecoming King and Queen during the coronation assem- bly. Shivering sophomores anxiously await the start of the parade on a chilly afternoon in October. Paul Swan- strom seems to be looking for a place between the viewers.

STUDE T COUNCIL . . . The Student Council strove toward a more united johnson High School during 1959-60. This group of twenty-eight mem- bers sponsored such projects as Teacher Appreciation Day, Homecoming, Play Day, Supply Store, Snack Period and Penny Thursday.
